About this recipe
Halloumi in the air fryer gets golden edges without a greasy pan. A cool cucumber tomato salad keeps the plate bright.
Four servings means about 4 ounces of halloumi each plus a generous pile of salad.
Do not overcrowd the basket. Halloumi needs space to brown instead of steam.
SALAD
Step 1
In a bowl, toss cucumber, tomatoes, 1 tablespoon olive oil, half the lemon juice, herbs, and black pepper. Set aside.
AIR FRY
Step 2
Pat halloumi dry and brush lightly with remaining oil. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F for 3 minutes if your model recommends it.
Step 3
Arrange halloumi in a single layer. Air fry at 390°F for 5 minutes.
Step 4
Flip. Air fry at 390°F until golden at the edges and warmed through, 4 to 5 minutes more.
SERVE
Step 5
Divide salad among four plates. Top with halloumi, finish with remaining lemon juice and red pepper flakes if using, and serve warm.
Tips
Halloumi is salty on its own. Taste the salad before adding any salt.
If your air fryer runs hot, check at 8 minutes total so the cheese softens without scorching.
